Speaking of $4 gas…

It’s not just us commuters who are feeling squeezed by gas prices.

Makes me think back to last night, when Benjamin and I stopped by Twin Acres Ice Cream Shoppe while Sam and Mason were at their swimming lesson with Brandy. As we were leaving, there was a group of teens in front of us, screeching out of the parking lot in a Mercury Mountaineer. After paying for ice cream and gas, I guess the good news is there couldn’t have been much more left to pay their way into trouble.

I, of course, flashed forward six years to when the Sam will be borrowing my car. Never mind the worrying I’ll be doing. Wonder what the gas prices will be then?

  1. Ha! That was accidental, but it reads pretty well, doesn’t it? I might have to make that a habit.I’ve read other Mom and Dad blogs where the child is referred to along the lines of The Little Princess, or Child #1. I had been leaning toward Imps 1, 2, and 3, but maybe a titular “The” will boost their confidence a little more.

  2. Gas was $4.11 this morning in NH. I almost fell over. Those are the days I’m happy I work at home.I always call my kid “the boy” because I couldn’t think of anything better!

  3. I just got another 20 cent/gallon coupon at Stop & Shop this morning. I immediately started calculating whether I should stop tomorrow at the Plymouth or Pembroke stores that offer fueling, and whether I should do so in the morning or evening. It’s starting to border on obsessive compulsion for me, all so I can spend $3.75 per gallon instead of $4. And to think that just a few short months ago, $3.75 seemed outrageous!
